Dengue and other mosquitoes nurture in water. Therefore, the following guidelines should be followed to stop producing mosquitoes:-
- Water in flower pots should be frequently
- All water containers should be covered with a tight lid
- Replace once a week the stored water in barrels, drums etc
- Large water tanks and surface wells must have single piece lid. Check it at frequent
- intervals. Overflow pipe should also be protected by a mosquito net.
- Properly dispose off container-like objects like tyres, bottles, etc
- Spill out water from fountains once a week and keep it dry for a day or two
- Rain water collected on terraces/roofs should be cleared (at least) once a week
